wild silk – Baserange's wild silk originates from China and is Oeko-Tex certified. Wild silk comes from Tussar silkworms that live in the wild. Due to the short fiber length, Tussar silk is a very durable fabric and more textured than regular silk. The process of making wild silk is non-violent and does not involve killing silkworms. For around 30 days, the silkworm grows and munches on castor leaves until it reaches its final size. It then spins its cocoon for another 15 days. Once the moth leaves its cocoon, the silk is processed.
